The 15th International Workshop On Micropiles, organised by the International Society for Micropiles (ISM), took place in Vail, Colorado, USA, from 31 May to 2 June 2023. “Taking micropiles to new heights” was this year’s theme.
ISCHEBECK TITAN was represented by colleagues from Australia, Germany, Canada, Columbia, Poland and the USA. Their various presentations on micropiles demonstrated our competence in this field and impact on the market.
The competition to find the most unusual construction project involving micropiles worldwide, the “World Cup of Micropiles”, was held again this year ‒ for the fourth time. Five regions competed to win this award.
In the last competition, ISCHEBECK, represented by our Polish subsidiary TITAN Polska, was able to win this prize, the first time it had gone to a European company. However, this time we very reluctantly had to concede to the USA. But it was close! The impressive “Foundation of the New Furnace at the O-I Peldar Zipaquira Plant” project submitted by our Colombian subsidiary proved very popular, but did not make it across the finish line.
Managing Director Björn Ischebeck, who is also a member of the ISM’s steering committee, sums up the event as follows: “We covered all technical themes around micropiles in an intensive dialogue with partners, customers and society members. The ISM had put together a fantastic agenda with ambitious presentations. A very successful event.”
We are very much looking forward to the next ISM conference in 2025, which will then take place in Europe once again. Where? You’ll have to wait and see! Adiós!
